9 days of hiking through the Peruvian mountains and jungles, more than 4000m uphill across mountain passes reaching almost 5000m above sea level, through ancient Inka ruins that rival Machu Picchu and tiny villages that can only be reached by foot and still speak more Quechua than Spanish – the Choquequirao Trek was one of the most spectacular things I’ve ever done.
